— The United States military is planning to add a 17-round magazine to the Glock 17, the most popular handgun in the world.
The U.S. Army and the Marine Corps, which have both said they will use the new pistol, have said they want the 17-ounce capacity to be used for training.
A 17- round Glock will cost between $10,000 and $12,000.
A spokesman for the Marine Corp. said it will begin using the Glock on its training fleet this year and in the near future.
The Marine Corps said it would only add the new Glock to existing models in 2018.
The Army said the 17 is available for purchase now.
The Glock 17 uses a standard Glock trigger and is the most common pistol in the U.A.M.T.S., the Military-to-Majors-to Navy Arms Consortium, which is in charge of the Glock program, said in a statement.
It is a reliable, easy-to use, versatile handgun with a comfortable, comfortable grip and a comfortable trigger that is easy to handle.
